I am a lead researcher at the international project MARCUS,
funded by NATO SPS.
I am a visiting scholar at the University of New Mexico, USA.
I am a PhD student and researcher at the LARICS lab at the University of Zagreb, Croatia.
I am passionate about perception, autonomy, and drones.
I love project management and organizing cool events/projects.
[October 2022] I gave a talk at CCVW 2022 on how to manipulate synthetically generated data to improve object detection.
[July 2022] I gave a talk at the Aerial and Space Robotics Workshop on synthetic data powering AI-enabled perception for drones.
[June 2022] We completed field demonstrations for partners and investors of the MARCUS project in Albuquerque, NM, USA, together with collaborators from ETH Zurich and Sandia National Laboratories. Videos will follow soon!
[March 2022] Our paper Brain over Brawn: Using a Stereo Camera to Detect, Track, and Intercept a Faster UAV by Reconstructing the Intruder’s Trajectory is published in a green open access journal Field Robotics. [video]
[February 2022] We completed the simulation demo for NATO and partners of the MARCUS project.
[January 2022] Our paper Sim2Air-Synthetic Aerial Dataset for UAV Monitoring is accepted to IEEE RA-L and ICRA 2022. We propose a texture-invariant approach for detecting objects in the air using synthetic data. [paper] [video]
[Novemeber 2021] I will be joining NATO project in the USA as a lead researcher under Prof. Rafael Fierro.
[October 2021] We organized DroneDays 2022, a two-day event featuring academic and industry leaders in drone technology.
